Class 045: Providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals living with a chronic illness by means of providing support groups that focus on issues affecting adults with respect to family, work, and social activities for people living with a chronic illness, and by providing support groups for children with chronic illnesses and parents with children who have chronic illnesses; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals and families with chronic illnesses who are undergoing a crisis by means of providing assistance from trained social workers to make decisions, solve problems, and alleviate anxiety; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals and families with chronic illnesses who are overwhelmed and need assistance by means of setting up appointments, registering at institutions, and accessing medical records; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for young patients under 18 by means of self-awareness exercises, teambuilding, and advocacy activities to use chronic illness challenges as a catalyst for growth to become community leaders and to give back, pairing with other young patients of similar age, and peer mentoring; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals and families with chronic illnesses by means of hospital visitation by volunteers who share commonalities with the patients such as gender, profession, age or disease experiences; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals and families with chronic illnesses by means of school advocacy, diet and nutritional support, and hosting activities and community events to provide education, awareness, and outreach; providing emotional counseling and emotional support services for individuals and families with chronic illnesses by means of researching chronic illnesses and sharing the information with patients, families of patients, and healthcare providers to improve care and treatment
